Mission Addendum

TRANSLUX is an open-source web library designed to inject interactive optics, light, and class into modern user interfaces.

But beyond the glassmorphism and the state machines, TRANSLUX is a political statement.

We believe software is inherently political. The web ecosystems we build should actively protect, signal, and defend human rights.

TRANSLUX was born out of the necessity to combat anti-trans legislation and hatred by providing developers with simple, drop-in tools to show solidarity on any webpage. Our mission is to make expressing support technologically effortless, beautiful, and profound.

The technical architecture underlying TRANSLUX isn’t just a UI glow layer:

  • translux:solidarity: Pings human-rights-aware websites into a decentralized counter network.
  • The Townhall Component: Allows decentralized messaging, creating an open discourse space that resists corporate censorship.
  • AGPL-3.0 Licensing: Designed as a “poison pill” against hostile corporate appropriation, ensuring our codebase remains open and free.

TRANSLUX is designed, maintained, and actively developed by Arepo.

This project is made with care, frustration, and absolute resolve. If you use it, you stand with us.
